Your vehicles are rolling advertisements. A dirty delivery truck says something about your business, and a clean one says something better. Here's how to keep a fleet looking sharp without wasting time or water.
Why regular washing matters
- Brand image: customers notice.
- Safety: clean lights, mirrors and number plates.
- Longevity: road grime, salt and diesel residue damage paint and chassis over time.
- Inspections: a clean vehicle makes faults easier to spot.
Use a proper truck wash
Truck and bus washes are formulated to cut through road film, diesel soot and traffic grime that ordinary car shampoo can't shift. Many are designed to be diluted and applied with a pressure washer or foam lance.
The fleet wash routine
- Pre-rinse from top to bottom to remove loose dirt.
- Apply diluted truck wash and let it dwell (don't let it dry).
- Brush stubborn areas: grilles, mudflaps and lower panels.
- Rinse thoroughly from the top down.
- Degrease wheels and chassis separately.
- Wipe glass and mirrors dry.
Save water
Use a pressure washer and trigger guns rather than an open hose, and consider waterless products for in-between cleans.
