If your business goes through a lot of wiping (factories, kitchens, workshops, printers, salons), choosing the right roll can make a real difference to both cleanliness and cost. Here's how the main options compare.
Paper rolls
Jumbo / garage roll
Large, absorbent and economical. Ideal for hand-drying and general wiping in workshops and warehouses.
Impi and Decca rolls
Industrial paper rolls designed for heavy daily use. Great for wiping benches, machinery and spills. Pair them with a floor-stand or wall dispenser.
Non-woven spunlace rolls
Spunlace is made from fibres bonded with water jets, giving a soft, strong, lint-free cloth that doesn't fall apart when wet. It's ideal for:
- Wiping with solvents or degreasers
- Food processing (single-use hygiene)
- Printing, spray painting and panel beating
- Salons and beauty treatments
The weight (for example 45gsm) tells you how thick and durable it is.
Which is cheapest?
It depends on the job. Paper is cheapest per sheet for quick, light wipes. Spunlace costs more per sheet but often does the job of several paper sheets on tough jobs, and it doesn't leave lint behind.
Tip: use a dispenser
Loose rolls get dropped, soaked and wasted. A dispenser controls usage and keeps the roll clean.
