If your cleaners are wringing mops by hand into a single bucket, you're losing time and putting dirty water back on the floor. A proper bucket and wringer system is one of the cheapest upgrades you can make to commercial cleaning.
Why a wringer matters
- Consistent moisture: a well-wrung mop leaves floors damp, not wet, so they dry faster and are safer.
- Less effort: the lever does the work, not wrists and backs.
- Cleaner results: you're not spreading dirty water around.
- Hygiene: hands stay out of dirty, chemical-laden water.
Single or double bucket?

- Dip the mop in the clean solution.
- Mop a section.
- Rinse the mop in the dirty-water side.
- Wring, then dip in clean solution again.

Choosing the right mop
Match the mop to the wringer and the area. Heavier cotton mops like the 400g Mega Mop hold plenty of solution for big, open floors. Smaller or lighter heads suit tighter spaces like washrooms.
Technique tips
- Sweep or vacuum first.
- Mop in a figure-of-eight, working backwards toward the door so you don't walk on wet floor.
- Change the solution when it looks dirty, not when it looks "really" dirty.
- Put out wet floor signs before you start.
Looking after the kit
At the end of each shift, empty and rinse buckets, rinse mop heads and hang them to dry. A mop left wet in a bucket overnight smells sour and spreads bacteria the next day.
