Walk into a freshly cleaned school corridor or factory floor and you'll probably smell it: pine. Floor sanitisers have been a South African cleaning staple for generations. But which one is right for your space?
π² Pine Sanitiser
The classic. A fresh, clean pine fragrance that tells everyone the floor has just been cleaned. Great for schools, offices, corridors and homes.
π Lavender Sanitiser
Softer and more floral. A favourite for guesthouses, spas, salons and bedrooms, or anywhere you want a calming scent rather than a "cleaning" smell.
β« Black Sanitiser
The heavy-duty option, traditionally used for drains, outdoor areas, animal enclosures, refuse areas and industrial floors where strong odours are a problem. Its strong smell isn't suited to living spaces, but it's a champion for the tough jobs.
How to use floor sanitisers
- Sweep first.
- Dilute according to the label. Most need only a small amount per bucket.
- Mop as normal and let the floor air-dry.
- Pour a little diluted solution down drains weekly to keep odours away.
Safety note: use the products as directed, keep them away from children and pets, and don't mix them with other chemicals.
