In hospitality, cleanliness is the number-one thing guests comment on in reviews. Whether you run a guesthouse, a B&B or an Airbnb in Cape Town, a fast and consistent turnover routine is your secret weapon.
1. Strip and start the laundry
Strip beds and collect towels first, and get the first wash going while you clean.
2. Clear and air
Open windows, empty all bins and remove anything guests left behind.
3. Bathroom
- Toilet, shower, basin and mirrors, top to bottom
- Check the shower drain for hair
- Restock toilet paper, soap and amenities
- Fresh towels, neatly folded
4. Kitchen or kitchenette
- Wash and put away all dishes
- Wipe the fridge, microwave and kettle
- Restock coffee, tea, dish cloths and dishwashing liquid
5. Bedroom and living areas
- Make beds with crisp, fresh linen
- Dust surfaces, lamps and headboards
- Check under the beds and behind the curtains
- Vacuum and mop floors last
6. The final walk-through
Walk in as if you were the guest. Check lights, the remote control, the Wi-Fi card, and that fresh, clean smell.
Save time with a kit
Keep a fully stocked cleaning caddy and a stock cupboard per property so nothing runs out mid-season.
