A clean workplace isn't just about appearances. It means fewer sick days, better morale and a great first impression for clients. Here's a practical checklist you can print and stick on the cleaning cupboard door.
β Daily
- Empty all bins and replace liners
- Wipe desks, keyboards, phones and mice (the germiest spots in the office!)
- Clean kitchen counters, sinks and the microwave
- Wash coffee mugs and run the dishwasher
- Clean and restock washrooms
- Wipe door handles, light switches and lift buttons
- Vacuum or sweep high-traffic areas
β Weekly
- Mop all hard floors
- Dust shelves, window sills, picture frames and skirting boards
- Clean glass doors and partitions
- Clear out the office fridge (be ruthless!)
- Wipe chairs and meeting room tables
β Monthly
- Deep clean carpets and upholstery
- Clean inside windows and blinds
- Dust light fittings and air-con vents
- Descale kettles and coffee machines
- Check stock levels of chemicals and consumables
Keep it simple
You don't need a cupboard full of products. A good all-purpose cleaner, glass cleaner, floor cleaner, a stack of microfibre cloths and plenty of bin liners will handle 90% of office cleaning.
Our sister company Max Products supplies offices across Cape Town with everything on this list. Check out the facility cleaning hampers for a ready-made starter kit.
